Announcing 2008 Educators Conference

The Education Department of Covenant College is pleased to announce its 2008 Educators Conference, Five Ways Technology is Transforming Teaching.  Our featured guest for the conference is Dr. Peggy Roblyer, a national leader of integrating technology across the curriculum. As classroom teachers, principals, and educational leaders continue to discuss the best uses of technology in our schools, this interactive conference promises to be very timely and engaging.

For over two decades, Dr. Roblyer has been at the forefront of educational technology.  She has published dozens of articles, monographs, book chapters, and books on various aspects of technology.  Some of her more recent books include Essentials of technology in teaching and learning:  A hands-on approach (2007), Integrating educational technology into teaching (4th Edition, 2006), Starting out on the Internet: A learning journey for teachers (3rd Edition, 2006), and Educational technology in action:  Problem-based learning exercises for technology integration (2004).

Dr. Roblyer earned her masters degree from Penn State and her Ph.D. from Florida State.  In addition to her extensive writing, teaching, and speaking careers, Dr. Roblyer has also done extensive work in consulting, editorial work from various publications, and has held a number of elected and appointed positions in national and international associations.

The Educators Conference is Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, from 9:00 AM -3:00 PM.  The $75.00 conference fee includes lunch, refreshments, and discounted pricing on Dr. Roblyer’s books through Covenant’s bookstore.  To register, go to www.covenant.edu and complete the form under “Events.”   For further information, call 706.419.1407 or e-mail jstewart@covenant.edu.
